I decided to try to design my own 4th edition character sheet becuase, while I do come across some decent character sheets on the internet, I have just never found one that fits what I want perfectly.
Specifically:
- I'm weird, and I like to keep my character sheets in clear plastic protectors and use a wet erase marker to keep track of HP, Money, XP, and other things. I also typically keep my character sheets in a binder so that rather than having a bunch of loose pages I have them aranged in a permanent order. I think that this ordering should be considered when designing a character sheet.
- D&D, to me, is first and foremost a role playing game, so shouldn't the first page of a character sheet be the character description, back story, portrait, and similar role playing notes?
- All combat related statistics should be located on one, well layed out page. This includes weapon and implement statistics. This page should appear on the back of the RP page. It should also have a space for combat notes.
- The opposing page and following pages should contain sections for powers.
- The last page will contain equipment and notes on feats.
- There should also be an optional section for rituals.
I like Shado's layout and style and so I have to give him credit for inspiring my design layout, you will probably notice many similarities between his sheet and mine.
I have released Version 1.2 of my character sheet. It's only real purpose was fixing the front page, which is now better layed out and less restrictive. Please give me some input on the forums!
