Apollo's Comments:

I have released Version 1.1.1(project page) of my character sheet. It improved upon Version 1.0 in a few ways, there are still a couple of things I would like to eventually fix and are mentioned below. Please feel free to leave comments and criticism. Also, some fundamental errors in from Version 1.1 where fixed with this version.

Current Release:

Version 1.1.1 - Direct Download

Changes:

-Box for Second Wind added inside the "Surges Used" box.
-Check boxes for "At Will", "Encounter", and "Daily" powers added.
-"Used" box added for powers.
-Languages moved to page 1.
-Capacity moved to page 5.
-Section for action points/ milestones added to page 2.
-Weapon properties box added in the "Weapons" section.
-The background gradient issue with the Prof and Misc boxes in the weapons section has been fixed.
-Total weight carried box added on page 5.
-Some box sizes changed.

Known Issues:

- Size of pages in the .pdf are huge.
Make sure to fit the pages to printable area before printing.



Do this unless you want to waste paper.


- The line just above the "Languages" box on page 1 doesn't get printed by some printers.
- It's been pointed out that I misspelled "Thievery" in the skills list. Will be corrected in next version. Fixed with Version 1.1.1.
- The check boxes on the powers has "Utility" instead of "Daily". Will be fixed on next release.Fixed with Version 1.1.1.

Aesthetics:

-I personally don't like the background gradient color. In fact I don't really like the background gradient style. I may change this in a future release depending on what other people think.

So it has been presented to me, on other D&D forums, that the "Mannerisms", "Quotes", and "Goals" section on page 1 might be fairly useless, and perhaps could just be absorbed into "Notes" section.

My problem with this is that it would leave a bunch of unrestricted space on the front page. Any suggestions of what might be good to put on the front page?

One idea I had was to make the portrait zone taller so that people who like to draw their characters could have enough space to draw a full body image including armor and weapons and the like, rather than just a face shot. My concern with this is that most people don't draw their characters because most people don't like to draw.

You could divide up the front page into unlabled "boxes" of lines. That would encourage the players to write whatever they damn well please there - instead of feeling obligated to come up with "mannerisms" or whatever - but it would still be organized a little bit into smaller units.

I also like the idea of a larger blank space for a character portrait.

If I had a bigger character image box and didn't use all of it, I would section off parts of it to write down other notes, if room need be.

Ah, not a bad idea! Perhaps title the portrait section: Portrait/Notes!
